logoOur Martial Arts Program

A typical Jacobs Tae Kwon Do martial arts class is made up of calisthenics, stretching, self defence and the style of Tae Kwon Do. Students are slowly and meaningfully introduced to martial art techniques and principles to help move them toward this end.

The belt system is one way in which this is accomplished. There are nine belts in which each student must work through from white to first degree black belt. Within any given belt are requirements which are used to help mold and move the student toward their balance. Each student is introduced to short term goal setting. These goals are measurable, attainable and specific. Through achieving these short term goals the students learn how to focus on attaining long term goals.

Holding a grading is another way in which instructors challenge their students: gradings allows instructors to gauge individual progress. It also helps push each student to reach for their full potential. Performing on a stage takes practice and the more one does it the better one performs. As a result a student’s confidence and self esteem has no choice but to grow.
